Save the Date: Ask a Curator on 19th September

If you’re interested in museums, chances are you’ve heard of it before, but either way you should mark you diaries for the next ‘Ask a Curator’ day on Wednesday 19th September! This event, developed by UK based arts marketing agency Sumo, first took place in 2010 but is back by popular demand.

Ask a Curator is basically a worldwide question and answer session, where interested members of the public can pose questions to museum and gallery curators via Twitter (though in 2010 some museums used Facebook as they felt they had a stronger Facebook community), either by sending a message (i.e. ‘tweet’) to one of the participating venues directly, or by using the hashtag #askacurator. To ask a question, you’ll need to have a Twitter account, but it’s free, really quick to sign up, and very easy to use. If you’re new to Twitter and are unsure of how it all works, we’d be happy to answer your questions.

So, don’t miss this opportunity to be as nosy as you like. Mark your calendars for Wednesday 19th September and get ready to ask how, what, where, when and why?! Oh, and if you’re a museum reading this and haven’t signed up yet, it’s not too late – just send an email to info@askacurator.com!
