Save the Date! #MuseUp in Paradise at Berlin’s Kupferstichkabinett

It’s been a while, but we’re very pleased to invite you, in co-operation with the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, to a very special exhibition for our first #MuseUp of the year at the Kupferstichkabinett (Museum of Prints and Drawings), home to one of the largest collection of graphic art in Germany and one of the four most important museums of its kind in the world, next to the Albertina, the British Museum and the Louvre.

Due to the light sensitivity of the artworks and the sheer size of the collection – over 550,00 works in the print medium and 110,000 drawings and water colours – the museum does not have a permanent exhibition, but instead always shows a selection of its artworks  in several temporary special exhibitions. Arcadia – Paradise on Paper – Landscape and Myth in Italy focuses on Italy from the mid-15th century to the early 17th, the era of Botticelli, Parmigianino, Campagnola, and Guercino. Arcadia, a mythical land written about for centuries, is an idyllic paradise filled with contentment and harmony. In the exhibition, “the landscape images of ideal beauty and a mystical, mythical existence are suffused by an intimate closeness to nature and divine sensual enchantment.” You can find out more about this stunning exhibition on the museum’s website.
